This policy covers the Ascending Therapy website. It explains what the site collects, why, and what happens to it. It doesn't cover clinical records, which are protected separately under HIPAA and California law and are described in the paperwork you receive before your first session.
What the contact form collects
The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide one, and your message. That information is sent to Deborah so she can respond to your inquiry. It's used for that purpose and nothing else. It isn't sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.
Please don't include detailed clinical or medical information in the form. Website form submissions and email aren't secure channels. A short note about what you'd like help with is fine. Save the details for the phone consultation or your first session.
Spam protection
The form uses a hidden field that real visitors never see, and Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. Turnstile receives limited technical data from your browser for that check. It doesn't track you across other sites.
Analytics
This site may use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. Any analytics in place records aggregate information such as page URL, referring site, approximate region, and browser type. It isn't used to build an advertising profile of you.
Cookies
The site doesn't set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any cookies present are functional ones needed for the site or the spam check to work.
How long information is kept
Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep a basic record of the inquiry. If you'd like your message deleted, ask and it will be removed.
Your choices
You can ask what information about you exists, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. California residents have these rights under the CCPA. Email deborah@ascendingtherapy.com or call (408) 827-1006 and the request will be handled promptly.
Third parties
The site is hosted by a third-party web host, uses Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection, and embeds a Google Map on the contact page. Each of those providers has its own privacy policy governing the technical data it receives.
Children
This website isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their information. Parents and guardians are the ones who make contact about adolescent therapy.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
